Three minutes. Six cameras. One witness who saw nothing but heard everything.
At 9:14 p.m., Caleb Mercer walks into the corner store after a fight with his sister. At 9:17, he walks out. June is gone.
The police have six cameras and a timeline with a three-minute hole in it. Caleb has something an ear that catches every sound most people tune out. He hears the pitch of a neon sign, the rattle of a van's cargo, a cough behind a closed door.
The search turns up blood that isn't June's and a missing girl nobody reported, and Caleb learns his sister was hiding more than a phone. To bring her home, he'll have to work out what really happened in those three minutes. He'll also have to stop listening to the people who want him to stay quiet.
A ticking-clock YA mystery about a brother, a sister and the sounds that give everyone away. Book One of The Westbrook Mysteries.
